Pulau Ubin Adventure

Yesterday, Elsa, Kelyn, Nana, Stanley, Edwin and I went to Pulau Ubin.
At first I was kinda reluctant to go there since
I already went there with my cell group mates about a week ago.
The stiffness from my overexercised muscles has barely disappeared.
On top of that, many of my friends couldn't make it.
Either they had another plan, or had gotten home to Indonesia. LOL
But then I think, why the hell NOT.
I'm going home in less than one week anyway.
Why don't give ourselves a good trip to remember before :)
So I agreed to be waken up early (can hear birds twittering) at 6am.

After making ourselves sandwiches and bread with Nutella,
we took MRT from Clementi to Pasir Ris (such a looong way to go).
Then we continued by bus to Changi pier.
There were thick clouds and even drizzle when we're waiting for the bus.
I prayed all the way for the weather gotten better for us later.

We arrived safely at the pier, and it's not crowded at all.
In fact, there's only around six other ppl there.
(oh, by the way Elsa's boyfriend, Stanley, didn't go with us.
I thought he turned off the alarm. LOL.
It turns out he DID wake up, but then went back to sleep =_=)

Waiting for the boat

After a less than 10 minutes boat trip (yes, that near!), we arrived at Pulau Ubin.

The view of Pulau Ubin's beach

We rent bikes. Two double bike for Nana-Elsa, and Edwin-I.
One single bike for Kelyn.

We haven't go too far, when Edwin playfully release his handlebar
when the road were sloping down.
Of course our double bike shook and fell.
Edwin got his toe wounded, but I was free from any scratch (miracle!)
Elsa and Kelyn, who saw me from afar,
said I instantly jumped very very high when the bike start to fall.

We made a stop when we saw a beautiful pond.
We just had to take picture there. LOL
L-O-V-E (with legs) hahahaha

Beautiful, isn't it?

We continued cycling until the route end.
Take a rest on a check point hut.
By the time we're started to got bored, Stanley arrived.
So we decided to cycle back to the starting point
and continue our journey to the other side of the island.
On the way back, Nana who's riding by herself, fell off from her bike.
She got more serious injuries than Edwin before.
Thankfully we met a guard with emergency tools.
He gave Nana wet tissues to wipe her wound and bandage.

On check-point hut (before Nana fell)

After meeting Stanley, we decided to return the rented bikes
and instead took a shuttle bus to the end of the other route.
(I've biked there before.
And the road is longer and bumpier than the previous route.
Add up the possibility of rain, we're good to go by bus. LOL)

Around 15 minutes by bus, the car path ended and we need to walk from there.

We saw a viewing tower.
I don't know how many feet it is (I'm not good at making approximation)
all I know is, it is TALL.
We're all panting and heaving when arrived at the top.

Good thing Edwin had brought his tripod along with his camera.
We're taking many good photos there.
The view of the sea, tall trees, the breeze.
They made the hard climb worth while.
Edwin and Stanley flew a kite. But the wind blew it away. LOL

We continued our journey to the wooden pathway above the sea.
Thanks God it's raining before,
otherwise we've been burned by the sun by then.

We stopped at the hut in the center of the path.
Resting, eating our bread, taking silly photographs.
Most of all, we laugh :)

U-B-I-N

I wasn't trying to jump off the fence, if you're curious. LOL

I got hold of the twigs, while Edwin took this picture.
(Hey, how come a tree could grow with its roots under sea-water?)

The wooden path leads us to the shuttle bus pick up point.
And while waiting for the bus, we bought canned drinks from vending machine.

(No, we're not confused by the signpost.
It's for photograph purpose only. LOL)

The bus came and took us to Pulau Ubin pier.
But before we left the island, we decided to taste some delicacies of the island.
Hahaha. No, I think, we're just hungry.

Spicy fried octopus, oat-meal prawn, cah kangkung, lemon chicken (special for Edwin that doesn't like seafood. haha)

The same way we came in, we left Pulau Ubin by boat.

At the boat, all tired and sleepy.. and oily! haha

That was one of the most memorable trip in my life.
I was so thankful that my friends kinda 'forced' me to go.
After the trip, yes I was exhausted and tired and smelled like fish and sun.
But I also smiled a lot. Laughed a lot. Took a lot of good pictures.
The most important is..
I've spent great time with my dearest house mates.

♥ Love you all

I Belong to The Youth

SO! I don't know where to start. But I certainly could say that THIS is not the end. God is not done yet. In fact, earlier today I was discussing things with Ijah and we both agreed on something : we are on an accelerated roller coaster ride. Faster than ever! Higher than we ever been before! There are milestones in life. Like moments when you graduated uni, or when your PR is approved. When you moved overseas or going back for good. Moments that marked a change in the season of life. But there are other kinds of moments : intangible, but leaving marks so deep your brain might let go but your soul never will. And last week was THAT kind of moments. A series of events that, combined together, was just.. Well. I couldn't find A WORD to describe it best. But I would try my best to re-tell the story. Here goes. (Beware. It's gonna be long) I was considering a one day leave, a half-day plus another half-day, or simply a 2 days leave to attend Empowered21. If you...

The Boy Who Showed Me My WHY

So last week, the entire school left Redding for ministry trip around the States. I went to Phoenix for 8 days and came home to school with tons of testimonies of healing, people set free, delivered, and experiencing the love of the Father in the most tangible way. But here’s my personal take on the trip to Phoenix, AZ. I met a boy and this divine appointment marked my life forever. I told God (and my team mates), if the reason of my entire trip, all the whirlwind of fund raising and preparations, was just for this one moment with this boy, I would do it all over again.  So on an evening, I was told that I would go to minister to kids in a home church the next day. (On prerequisite of being in the trip with Bethel people is a heart that is always ready with a smiley YES to whatever comes next. HAHAH. So many last minute change, you could be blindsided by the suddenness of if. Or you can take it as an invitation to lean on the Holy Spirit leading. It’s nerve-wrecking for a bit, but ...

When God Made a Promise

“I know this is too fast. And please don’t ask me why, because I don’t have the answer. I don’t know why.” “I won’t ask you why. Because I know.. It’s God.”   Wkwkwkwkwwkwkwkwkww duh supershy padahal biasanya ga tau malu. I’m still getting used to this. But those who viewed our IG feed and saw the pic posted in FB would know what this is all about. The Promise of God. It’s been there, mentioned the wholeee time in my earlier posts, yet unnamed. I’ll try to recall the whole story. Some details would be lost in translation because there are wayyyy TOO MANY. Haha. Fyi. I’VE BEEN WAITING SOOO LOOOONG TO SHOUT THIS OUT LOUD. So, here goes. Last Sunday, R asked me out to dinner. A few days before, he’s mentioned this fancy place and I calmly (I think) said, “Yes, yes why not” while inside I was [insert screaming emoji here] knowing that this is not a normal dining experience. OMG. I was so glad it’s through a text message, otherwise he would see ...
